Eastmark is steaming up for Halloween
Follow us back in time and imagine a futuristic post-apocalyptic era when the world depended on innovative steam-powered machinery. A world without smartphones, where alternative Victorian fantasy collides with utilitarian arts and crafts to form a comic-like society.
Leave your modern day technology at home because the energy generated at this event will rely solely on the people who contribute creative inventions of the 19-century industrial period, also known as steampunk.
Here’s a sneak peek at what you have to look forward to at this year’s A Very Scary Carnival.
- Gear up for a wildly wacky Halloween experience that is sure to delight with carnival performances, family-friendly activities, food truck fare, trick-or-treating with community partners, and a rockin’ DJ.
- Calling all cats, ghosts, witches, super heroes, children and parents to join the Spectacle of Disguise Costume Parade. Staging begins at 6:15 p.m. next to the Event Pavilion. Parade takes off at 6:30 p.m.
- Teens and adults are invited to show off their spirit by entering Costume-Con, complete with prizes. Categories include Individual Teen, Individual Adult, Coordinated Couple/Group, and Coordinated Family.
Need some inspiration? Check out these themed costume ideas, but don’t let it stifle your ingenuity because traditional Halloween costumes are just as fun. Judging begins at 6:45 p.m.
