Let your inner Picasso shine
Eastmark painting series starts Feb. 9.
If you’re like us, you’re pretty smitten with the beauty of the Sonoran Desert. Hello, Arizona sunsets! And while it’s easy to snap a quick pic with your phone, imagine capturing the splendor of the desert on your own canvas.
If you love to paint, or would love to learn, we have a treat for you. Certified art instructor Carol Benally is bringing her time and talent to Eastmark for a three-part painting series called The Art of Painting.
We’ll break out the brushes for three Friday night sessions (Feb. 9, Feb. 23, and March 9) from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Classroom at The ‘Mark. Each session will focus on a new skill or technique, starting with the value of color and blending on Feb. 9.
Whether painting is a casual hobby, you haven’t picked up a brush in years, or you’re simply looking for a creative night out with neighbors, all skill levels are invited. This is a hands-on event where Carol will help participants create their own painting through guided instruction.
While the painting supplies will be provided, participants are also welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages (no glass, please).
Carol has a passion for teaching art. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art education and spent 35 years teaching in Massachusetts and Arizona public schools.
She is inspired by the famous painter Georgia O’Keefe for her large iconic Southwest images and her independent personality.

Space is limited for this residents-only series, so be sure to reserve your spot. Youth 13 and older welcome with a parent or guardian.
