It’s time to celebrate: Happy Birthday, USA!

June 2017 | Related Categories: Resident News & Events

Independence Day is best celebrated with neighbors. Join us on July 1 for the second annual Spirt of Community parade followed by an All-American Pancake Breakfast. On July 4, we’ll meet back at The Eastmark Great Park for a concert on the pavilion followed by fireworks. Keep reading to find out how you can be part of the festivities!

Saturday, July 1
Spirit of Community Parade & All-American Pancake Breakfast
The Eastmark Great Park | 8 – 11 a.m.

Join the parade.

Neighbors, groups and clubs, schools, and businesses are all invited to join the procession down Eastmark Parkway from Sequoia Pathfinder Academy to The Eastmark Great Park. It’s time to deck out those bikes, wagons, strollers, scooters, and golf carts in your most festive Fourth of July décor. We want to see that USA spirit on full display!

The best entries will be awarded for their creativity and patriotic pride. If you’d like to participate, be sure to register online by June 28 (also check out the list of parade pointers).

Cheer on your neighbors.

A parade need spectators, too! Join us along the parade route to cheer on your neighbors. A big thank you goes out to the Eastmark Leadership Class 3 who will be organizing the parade.

Once the parade makes its way to The Eastmark Great Park, we’ll gather at the Event Pavilion (by the stage) for a flag ceremony to include the singing of the National Anthem, the Pledge of Allegiance, recognition of past and present military service members and first responders, and parade entry judging and awards.

Meet for breakfast.

After a morning of festivities, we know you’ll be hungry, so we’ll be cooking up an All-American Pancake Breakfast with delicious pancakes on the griddle and a choose-your-own toppings bar to boot.

Purchase your tickets to the breakfast ($5/adults and children 13 and older; $3/children ages 3-12; 2 and younger free). To set the mood, the a cappella group Kings Carolers will be signing patriotic tunes throughout the morning.

We know it’ll be warm out (okay, it’ll be hot), so we’ll have tents set up for shade and cooling stations throughout The Eastmark Great Park. If you’re feeling up for some play, we’ll have a corn hole competition and water-bucket races ready to go. Oh! And waterslides, too!

Volunteer.

Want to be part of the Community Life Team for the day? Sign up to volunteer and help us as we create a memorable event. Enjoy a complimentary pancake breakfast and receive a volunteer t-shirt as our thanks to you!
