When the sun begins to set before 7 p.m. and evening temperatures fall comfortably into the 80s and 70s, it can only mean one thing in the Valley of the Sun: it’s once again time to enjoy the outdoors.
Celebrate the onset of fall with the return of the First Friday Concert Series on Sept. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the event pavilion at The Eastmark Great Park™. Bring blankets, low-back chairs, picnic baskets and anything else you need for a fun, family-friendly evening under the Arizona sky.
To kick off the series, local singer/songwriter Tommy Ash and her band will get your toes tapping with tunes reminiscent of country’s heyday when Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, and Emmylou Harris headlined the concert circuit. Ash released her first album, “Sinner’s Blood,” in September 2013 and has been the opening act for Dwight Yoakam at several of his Arizona concerts.
The First Friday Concert Series will continue on Oct. 3 with Apple– A Tribute to the Beatles, and Nov. 7 with the Dina Preston Band, who has performed extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally. Apple channels the greatest rock and roll band of all time, while the Dina Preston Band offers a mix of favorites from yesterday and today like “Mustang Sally,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” and “Before He Cheats.”
The First Friday Concert Series is hosted by the Eastmark Community Life Team, who invite you to experience the dynamic lifestyle and amenities of the vibrant, integrated, and evolving regional community in the East Valley.
Eastmark’s splash pad will be open during the series for the younger family members. For the safety of your pet and those at the concert, please leave Fido at home.
