Making Memories at Eastmark’s Party at the Pavilion
Kids on bikes rode up from the neighborhoods right at 11am. The inflatable slide and face painters were ready for these Eastmark partiers and the first chorus from Sequoia Elementary played the opening notes of their songs. Dueling keyboards played by students set the perfect backdrop for the debut of Eastmark’s Party at the Pavilion.
New friends and new traditions
For our team, seeing families arrive together, walking from their new homes and setting up blankets for an afternoon of relaxation and play, embodies the relationships that we have been striving to cultivate in this community. Residents and new friends gathered early on the back patio of the Visitors Center to catch up and enjoy the music. Simple connections were created that will make Eastmark home.
We were delighted to also welcome thousands of families from neighboring communities to this special public event to celebrate the opening of Mesa’s newest amenity – the Event Pavilion. The Pavilion is part of The Eastmark Great Park, a city park for all to enjoy.
The CARE Fund, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping families maintain their mortgage payments while dealing with a hospitalized child, hosted Eastmark’s first beer garden providing a welcome respite for party goers to enjoy local beers donated by Crescent Crown Distributing. Proceeds from sales in the garden benefitted the CARE Fund and their important work in our community.
Cutting the ribbon on the Pavilion
Special thanks to Mesa Mayor Alex Finter and Councilman Scott Somers who arrived early to cut the ribbon on this new venue for large and small concerts. Councilman Somers reminded the VIPs gathered of Eastmark’s early success in bringing significant employers like Apple, BASIS, and Grand Canyon University to Mesa and District 6. As the community grows, these early seeds, and the first phases of the Park are only the beginning of a community that is quickly becoming the Heart and Hub of the East Valley.
