On Tuesday, March 18th, The Eastmark Great Park will be transformed into a mini-spark! Festival. This special event is a small preview of the Mesa Arts Center’s annual spark! Festival of Creativity.
Spark! at The ‘Mark will feature interactive fun exhibits for kids of all ages, food trucks and music from 4:30pm – 7:00pm on Tuesday night. The event is free and open to the public.
Austin Bike Zoo, one of the most popular travelling art shows on wheels, will be on hand for families to experience. Kids will be able to try out their butterflies, bugs, and animal bicycles during the event. The Austin Bike Zoo artists have transformed their bikes into insects, animals – all works of art. These programs combine physics, engineering, mechanics, music, creative thinking, physical fitness, and FUN! Kids can sign up early for the bike workshops that will be held during the MAC Festival.
Bonanza, an educational company who builds collaborative art from LEGOs, will be on hand to start working on their installation planned for the Festival. During the spark! Festival at the MAC, Bonanza will be building a life size giraffe from LEGOs. Kids will be building the large LEGO bricks that make up this art piece during the Tuesday night preview event at Eastmark.
Annie Hickman’s Weaving the Wild
Weaving the Wild performers will perform through the park with kids wearing the unique nature inspired costumes of Annie Hickman. Her costumes, made from baskets woven into animals and bugs, will delight children of all ages.
Eastmark is delighted to be a presenter of the Mesa Arts Center’s signature spark! Festival of Creativity this year. During the four day event (March 19-23), the MAC is transformed into a wonderland of artists and performers who will educate, entertain and engage children of all ages.
