FUN-ZONE-The-Mark_01---091515This past weekend, the moment finally arrived to break ground on Eastmark’s newest and most-anticipated amenity: the community pool. Residents were excited to learn about the pool earlier this year. Now that construction has begun, the anticipation is full tilt.

And fueling the anticipation is more than just the excitement of getting a community pool. The 350 residents who attended the “Can You Dig It” event on Sept. 26 were blown away to learn The ‘Mark’s interior is being converted into a recreational space that complements the outside fun.

Far more than the traditional “rec room,” The ‘Mark will feature pool tables, shuffle board, indoor basketball hoops, skee ball, a giant scrabble wall and other interactive games and activities to enjoy while hanging out with friends and family. Cozy couches and lounge inspired furniture will be perfect for conversation or simply relaxing on a lazy afternoon. And the crowning jewel: a life-sized bus featuring booth seating and stocked with board games, books and conversation pieces.

“We’ve really let our imagination run wild in designing this new amenity for residents,” said Community Life Director Suzanne Walden-Wells. “The ‘Mark will be the place that everyone talks about, everyone wants to be, and the first place residents want to show off to their friends and family. You can count on a big WOW factor.”

The ‘Mark capitalizes on the idea of “third place” where residents want to go to spend time with others outside of their homes and workplace. It’s the perfect destination to ride to on your Eastmark Cruiser to meet up with friends. And right outside the doors at The ‘Mark is the Eastmark Splash Pad, The Great Park, and The Orange Monster. The pool and recreation center add to the endless opportunities for making memories right in your own community.

Expected grand opening of the pool and recreation center is spring 2016, depending on weather and other factors that can impact construction timelines. Residents will be the first to know when the new facility will debut, and in true Eastmark fashion, you can be sure it will be marked with a celebration!
