Mesa Mayor John Giles recently visited with Apple’s executive team in Cupertino, California to continue to solidify the City’s relationship with the global technology leader. Since taking over the facility at Eastmark, Apple has invested millions of dollars to build their global command center. The company also plans to relocate some executives and to hire local talent to run the data center operations.
“The planned growth of Apple’s workforce here, both those from California and those they will hire locally, is a strong signal of the opportunities they see here. Investments by companies like Apple will help to accelerate the growth of Eastmark and the Gateway area, and we hope their operations at Eastmark will be a magnet for new companies looking to move,” said Mayor Giles.
For Eastmark, this growth offers exciting employment opportunities and continues to fulfill the long term vision of the community as an economic core of the Southeast Valley.
“This region offers so many benefits to companies including immediate access to transportation, high quality schools, recreation and a talented workforce. As a city, we are working hard to make this the destination for growing companies with quick development timelines, completed infrastructure like power and roads, and a strong partner in the City,” Said Mayor Giles.
